今夜のオンライン英会話 一人反省会

今夜の英会話はしどろもどろでした。💦

本日使用した記事です。遺伝子操作に関するトピックです。

The scientist, the twins and the experiment that geneticists say went too far - CNN

2018年11月の記事で、中国人科学者がembryo(妊娠８週末までの胎児）に遺伝子操作を加えて双子の姉妹を誕生させたというニュースです。ちょっと怖いニュースですね。この分野に関しては疎いし、自分の意見もあまりないので英語で話す以前に日本語で話すのも難しいですね。

自分の言いたかったことを復習がてら英作文にしてみます。

I think that gene-editing is a threat because someone might abuse it.

誰かが悪用するかもしれないので遺伝子修正は脅威だ。

It is the problem that there is no regulation of handling gene modification technique.

どのように遺伝子修正技術を扱うか規則がないのが問題だ。

Because Chinese scientists don't have ethical standards and religious background, they are not hesitant to edit human genes.

中国人科学者たちは倫理基準や宗教的背景を持たないので、人間の遺伝子を修正することにためらいを感じない。

Gene-editing shouldn't be applied for human.

遺伝子修正は人間には適用するべきではない。

However some couples hope to apply this technique their babies to remove a genetic disease.

しかし夫婦の中にはこの技術を赤ちゃんの遺伝的疾患を取り除くために適用して欲しいと望んでいる者たちもいる。

There are pros and cons.

Personaly, I'm against for applying gene editing to human.
