2016年に引退したハンマー投げの室伏広治さんです。現役時代の映像です。英語であいさつしていますが上手ですね。
彼の父親は日本人のこちらも鉄人と言われたハンマー投げ選手の室伏重信氏、母親はルーマニア人の方です。したがって生まれながら英語環境にあったわけではなく、あとから努力で身につけていったものと思われます。
世界的な選手なので外国に合宿に行ったり外国人コーチや選手と話す機会も多かったことは想像できますが、日本人でこのくらい英語をスムースに話すことができれば十分なのではないでしょうか。
いいお手本だと思います。
